USDA Rural Development Energy Programs

Jack County has over 920 square miles of native and improved pasture and rangeland.  Cow/calf production is still the major ag enterprise in the county with around 30,000 head turned out year round.  Proper management of pasture and rangeland is directly correlated to the success and profitability of any ranch. Texas may let hunters shoot pigs from choppers

Millions of wild pigs weighing up to 300 pounds have been tearing up crops, trampling fences and eating just about anything in their path in Texas. But now they had better watch their hairy backs.
A state lawmaker is proposing to allow ordinary Texans with rifles and shotguns to shoot the voracious, tusked animals from helicopters. (more...)


 Commission Adopts Sweeping Texas Deer Regulations

The Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission adopted a series of wildlife and hunting related regulations that expand special buck antler restrictions and liberalize antlerless harvest opportunities in dozens of counties. The new rules take effect during the 2009-10 hunting seasons.. (more...)
